The mission and vision of PABC is to be a family of faith, intentionally discipling the next generation.
In Matthew 28:16-20 we are commanded to go and tell the world about the Good News of Jesus and make disciples of all nations. This word "disciple" means follower - someone who does what their leader does. This is what we want to be and want to teach others to be. To see what we are involved in to disciple others, check out the CONNECT, GROW, SERVE and RESOURCE pages.
Additionally, in Matthew 22:37-38 we read that Jesus wants us to love Him with all of our beings, and love our neighbour as ourselvesJesus says that these two things are the two most important commandments.
We are a part of the greater family the AGC, and adhere to the belief statement of the AGC - which can be found here!

Pastor Phil Houston, Lead Pastor
Phil is the lead pastor at Park Avenue Bible Church. He started that role in January of 2019, after being the Youth and Family Pastor for 6 years previously at PABC. Phil was called to ministry in 2003, in Swift Current, SK and was ordained in 2006. As lead pastor, Phil is responsible for the bulk of the preaching at PABC as well as work with elders, other PABC staff, the ministries of PABC that are “Connect” ministries, overseeing the discipleship and adult teaching ministries, and a few other areas, like the church softball team - which is a big interest of his. He also loves music, vintage video games, and watching Marvel superhero movies with his wife and favourite person, Jessica. His three children are Maggie, Evelyn and Henry, and are the other favourites in Phil’s life!
There are many meaningful verses in Phil’s life, but the one that is most meaningful at present is Proverbs 15:33: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and humility comes before honour.
Pastor Larry Rempel, Associate Pastor
I began in the pastoral ministry back in winter of 1979 so have been at it for a few years! And I can honestly say I have no regrets. It has been and continues to be a joy helping individuals come to know the difference Jesus can make in their lives and then to be part of them growing in their relationship with Him. You can’t get anything more thrilling that that!!
In fact in some ways I’m enjoying ministry more than ever. Having been a lead pastor from the beginning of my ministry until now, it’s kind of neat to be able to now serve as an associate under someone I had the privilege of mentoring. Now if I get asked something I don’t particularly want to deal with, I just say, “go ask the boss”! That feels kind of good. All joking aside, it has given me a little more flexibility to focus in on the things that I have particular passion for such as community connections, missions and preaching/teaching.
One of the community connections that I particularly find fulfilling is serving as one of the chaplains of our local Junior A hockey team. The world of sports is tough and to be able to help these guys see that there is more to this life than sports is very rewarding. And speaking of sports, it’s also a lot of fun cheering for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Riderville territory!
Side interests? – Golf, baseball, riding my motorbike, and doing renovations. And , oh yeah, home-made lemon or Saskatoon pie!
My favorite Scripture verse continues to be the one that God used to call me into ministry – Colossians 1:28. “teaching everyone with all wisdom so that we may present everyone mature in Christ”.
